Legal Counsel HQ

Your main tasks and responsibilities

  • Member of the Group Legal Team, working directly with the Group General Counsel as well as with the Regional Counsel EMEA

  • Reporting to the Regional Counsel EMEA

  • Working on M&A projects (due diligence, contract negotiations)

  • Analysis and managing legal risks

  • Participation in contract negotiations for the sale and purchase of goods and services of Sulzer

  • Contract drafting as well as review and commenting contract terms and conditions

  • Support in defending against liability claims

  • Work on claims with respect to customers and suppliers

  • Drafting and implementing company policies and regulations

  • Support compliance, in particular regarding competition law and data privacy

  • Training of employees in legal and compliance matters

  • Observing and analysis of legal and regulatory developments

Your profile

  • MLaw and Swiss bar exam

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in reputable law firm, ideally with a focus on M&A; additional experience as in-house counsel would be an advantage;

  • Experience in international M&A transactions and in-depth knowledge of contract, corporate and stock market law; knowledge of foreign jurisdiction is an advantage;

  • Willingness and interest to closely work together with business functions to contribute to the commercial success of the Sulzer group

  • Basis understanding of finance and accounting as well as management matters

  • Interested in technical products and services

  • Communicative personality with a quick grasp and interest in new challenges

  • Pro-active with hands-on attitude as well as a sense for practical solutions

  • Ability to deliver results under time pressure and right priority setting as well as to take responsibility for decisions

  • Able to negotiate in English and German (both written and spoken), any additional language is an asset.
