BWSR, a partnership between BWXT and CB&I, is the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) subcontractor at the Bettis Laboratory. BWSR performs remediation of legacy nuclear and environmental materials on site. The main project areas at the site include remediation of historical research facilities, demolition of buildings, and characterization of site infrastructure to support on-going maintenance and construction.
Training Specialist - BWSR (BWX Technologies, Inc.) - West Mifflin, PA
This position reports to the ESH & Q/Training Manager at the Bettis-Pittsburgh facility located in West Mifflin, PA.
Job Description /Duties
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinate procurement and delivery of technical and safety-related training required to support remediation activities.
Work closely with management and supervisory staffs to identify, develop/procure, deliver, maintain appropriate training files, and track required training.
Research training requirements, develop/procure, deliver and track required training and evaluating training materials and lesson plans.
Assess lessons plans to ensure all applicable and required information is presented to the intended audience.
Observe employees in the field performing trained evolutions. Assess if the training was adequate.
Prepare assessment reports and recommendations as required.
Job Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in developing, implementing and delivering training and qualification programs.
Experience in conducting safety and health training programs is a plus.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs and access databases.
Minimum of 4 years working in an industrial, nuclear or construction environment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the Contamination Worker qualification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the Production Controls Supervisor qualification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “L” clearance. Active DOE clearance is a plus.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (with no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
