This position is contingent on contract award.

Job Summary

Provide best-in-class global security engineering and supply chain management services in support of the U. S. Department of State (DOS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Countermeasure Directorate (DS/C).

Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse acoustic systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs engineering-related tasks related to complex acoustic systems including resolution of acoustic related problems.

  • Provides expert level consulting services on technological applications in the commercial market similar to, applicable to and/or employed by the customer.

  • Supervise test and evaluation of technical products and systems.

  • Analyze technical products and systems.

  • Apply broad knowledge of engineering procedures.

  • Provide guidance to junior staff engineers.

  • Provide expert level engineering, design, implementation, technical support, and consulting services for new product development and technological applications.

  • Ability to work independently on complex projects as well as coordinate with other engineering functions in a team environment.

  • Other duties as assigned by program management.

  • Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.

  • Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.

  • Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.

  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.

  • Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.

  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.

  • Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

  • Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.

  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

  • Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelors in an Engineering discipline in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Mechanical from an accredited university.

  • Five years of job-related experience.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Normal work environment.


  • Shall be available to travel up to 15%.
