Job Description

Scope:

The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance related tasks as required to ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical and mechanical equipment. The position is a craftsman level job working on first shift. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and will involve occasional overtime, back shift, weekend and holiday coverage as necessary.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Perform repair of mechanical equipment.

  • Use technical manuals, blue prints, and engineering sketches as required.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • Responsible for performing and documenting preventive maintenance on production machinery.

  • Responsible for keeping equipment in top condition for safe and efficient production results.

  • Will need to operate machines from time to time for both troubleshooting and to supplement production requirements during busy periods.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Fundamental mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability related to typical bulk material handling equipment, and fluid flow systems.

  • Fundamental electrical knowledge and troubleshooting ability – 480 volt and lower.

  • Understanding of electric motors and motor systems.

  • Basic familiarity with instrumentation such as level, flow, temperature, PLCs and HMIs.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Required Experience

  • 5+ to 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance or combination of related technical education and work experience.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent technical school degree preferred.
