NJ Employer Technical Manager in Somerset, New Jersey

Technical Manager (three openings) needed in Somerset, NJ to manage technical aspects of projects, including design, development, implementation, testing, customization, troubleshooting, and documentation of LabVantage LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) solutions. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confer with business analysts, application programmers, application testers and other stakeholders to design systems and to obtain information on performance requirements and system interfaces. Facilitate communication between stakeholders, coordinate with customers to deliver project from project development team, define timelines, and build quality solutions. Conduct technical workshops with customers to discuss and propose the future design of final software implemented through LabVantage's products. After project kick-off, coordinate with business analysts regarding design aspects of Functional Requirements Specification (FRS) preparation and clarify FRS solutions. Conduct white board sessions as needed with business analysts. Communicate to stakeholders the outcome/estimate of FRS review and participate in preparation of a functional-level project plan as required by the customer. Review and resolve any outstanding high-level design issues with solutions designers. Responsible for code development, review, and testing. Build web pages, Java-based web services, and graphical user interface applications to meet the defined requirements in FRS. Review pre-delivery checklists to ensure deliverables are achieved. Prepare project for delivery and respond to customer inquiries. Coordinate with business analysts to log issues. Ensure well-documented hand-off to support team. Liaise with clients for User Acceptance Testing process, identify any issues and plan for quick turnaround for resolution. Provide technical user training to customers for customized LabVantage software. Coordinate with R&D team to resolve product related issues and feature enhancements. Identify the business and IT needs of key projects. Support project managers to establish effective communication with other departments and to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and per corporate plan, meet quality standards, and stay within budget. Provide stakeholders with updates regarding status and other project information related to technical issues. Coordinate with other departments to evaluate and develop the most effective project management services. Liaise with senior managers across technical and non-technical departments to identify key plan tasks and due dates. Work to improve and implement internal processes on the entire supply chain of project implementation.REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Master's Degree (or foreign equiv) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), Math, or related field, plus two (2) years of IT experience. One (1) year of the two (2) years of IT experience must include experience in the LIMS domain using Java, Javascript, JSP, HTML/DHTML, AJAX supported by J2EE framework, Web Services, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and JasperSoft. In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equiv) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), Math, or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate IT experience. One (1) year of the five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate IT experience must include experience in the LIMS domain using Java, Javascript, JSP, HTML/DHTML, AJAX supported by J2EE framework, Web Services, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and JasperSoft. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
