The Internationalization team is looking for a tools software engineer to help support our key features on all of Apple’s major platforms including macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
Familiarity with Objective-C, C, or C++
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash, etc)
Familiarity with SCM systems such as Git and Subversion
Familiarity with command line operations
Problem-solving and debugging skills
The Internationalization team is responsible for ensuring that Apple’s products are tailored for customers around the world who use many different languages.
We provide text input solutions for many different languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, Hindi, Tamil, Thai, Vietnamese, and many more, tailored to meet the needs of each language. We also develop APIs and technologies to help developers both within and outside Apple deliver a high-quality localized experience.
We are looking for a motivated engineer to help us streamline our development process and support the quality of our products. As a member of the team, you will interact with the breadth of technologies that go into making great internationalized products, such as design, UI development, Unicode, text input, NLP, data analysis, etc.
Apple is known for its unique integration of hardware and software, and the Internationalization team is a key part of that. We work closely with the design, hardware, and localization teams to deliver a great Apple experience across many different languages on Apple’s new and exciting hardware products.
Write scripts to streamline development processes
Create tools for data collection and analysis
Implement solutions for gathering and visualizing usage metrics
Provide support for new languages and features in our software testing infrastructure
Implement tools for performing statistical analysis to provide accuracy scores for text input
Triage issues as they are reported
BS Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
*Familiarity with Web development
