Position Qualifications

Minimum Experience: 1 year preferred

Required License/Certifications: Current CA RN & BLS registration.

Job Summary

  1. Involves/informs/supports pt/family in the overall care of the pt. Directs others in care.

  2. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses, identifies expected outcomes distinct to pt.

    Develops POC/prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes/ implements interventions/evaluates pt progress.

  3. Assesses each pt/family's need for health teaching & formulate/initiate a teaching plan.

4.: Provides environment conducive to safety & security, implements appropriate precautions/measures.

  1. Administers medications/ IV's safely according to hospital P&P's.

  2. Uses means of communication understandable to pt/family/coworkers. Works to resolve conflicts as the need arises.

  3. Assesses critical events immediately & takes appropriate action.

  4. Continually assesses & provides basic comfort & hygiene measures.

  5. Upholds basic rights of privacy & seeks to preserve dignity/independence of expression of all pts/families.

  6. Maintains & updates own knowledge & competency/ partakes in required competencies.

  7. Monitors quality of care.

  8. Practices appropriate measures of infection control using principles of standard precautions.

  9. Provides aggressive pain management measures & continually evaluates pts response to their pain management.

    Maintains a non-judgmental approach to patients need for pain medications.

    Demonstrates knowledge & skill in all unit specific policies and standards.
