Sutter Health Accounting Analyst in Sacramento, California


This position is responsible for managing the premium billing accounting activities for the Finance/Operations Department. Premium billing accounting may include, but is not limited to, producing and sending manual monthly statements, reviewing payments made, reconciling and collecting outstanding accounts.

The Premium Accounting Analyst position is responsible for assisting with establishing and maintaining interdepartmental workflow and developing and implementing policies to improve the quality, timeliness and accuracy of information, throughout the organization. The Premium Accounting Analyst position is also responsible for providing reporting and data validation services.

Will develop and apply premium audit expertise in order to complete timely and accurate premium audit review and billing. Deliver excellent service to both internal and external customers. Develop strong technical knowledge of health plan specific premium application rules. Serve as a key resource for the premium leadership team in driving on-going process improvement.



Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or related field required.


Certified Public Accountant - preferred.


3-5 years of finance related or accounting background in a health plan or other required.

3-5 years as an analyst level working in a health plan preparing and analyzing financial statements, preparing and analyzing budgets, developing financial forecasting models, performing sensitivity and what if scenarios required.

3-5 years of Plan Medicare Experience, Project Management Experience, Crystal Reports/Sequel programming, Hyperion Experience preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of GAAP

Proficiency in Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Access

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Good verbal and written skills

Be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
