POSITION SUMMARY

Utilizing the nursing process, assesses, plans, provides and evaluates professional nursing care. Acts as team leader and appropriately delegates task to other team members. Identifies and intervenes to address patient and family nursing care and educational needs. Accountable for daily team performance through supervision of assigned staff, multi disciplinary collaboration, and facilitation of pathway outcomes. Participates in and supports the unit governing council. Assists in the efficient operation of unit. Participates as a team member by performing additional assignments not directly related to the job description when workload requires. Continually seeks opportunities for professional development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Current licensure RN - state of Virginia.

  2. Experience: Specific to unit or needs. BCLS certification.

  3. Performs unit management activities with a high level of proficiency.

  4. Performs nursing care functions in a safe and effective manner.

  5. Documents and participates in a care plan development.

  6. Establishes self as advocate for patients.

  7. Practices effective risk management

  8. Provides age appropriate care, education

  9. Respects Patient's Rights

  10. Completes education requirements
