Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator II for the office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Program Coordinator II will reside in Southern California (Greater Los Angeles area) with the purpose of recruiting California students to the university. The Program Coordinator II is responsible for a range of duties typically associated with recruiting the entering class at various stages of the recruitment cycle through enrollment.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts information sessions, makes presentations, and conducts counseling sessions at high schools, colleges and other facilities to meet students, families and school/college personnel for the purpose of recruiting and enrolling students.
Hosts virtual recruitment webinars and represents Rutgers at off-campus events.
Communicates and develops relationships with high school and university personnel, internal Rutgers academic and administrative units, alumni, etc., in coordinating recruitment activities.
Reviews/ prepares reports and analysis, maintains databases, conducts web research/benchmarking, organize mailings or emailings, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong computer literacy
Must demonstrate solid judgment, organizational, planning, coordination, time management and ability to multi-task.
Ability to work well independently and on a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to represent the university knowledgeably, articulately and enthusiastically with an effective professional demeanor.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel, when necessary, to sites for business demands.
- Previous experience in college admissions or as a high school counselor is highly desirable
Job includes some evening and weekend programs, as well as some overnight travel.
Must reside within Southern California.
This position has been appointed for 10 months.
