System Engineer II (WD-P) N/a, UT, US
Job Description Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of High Performance Computing (HPC) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities. Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develops technical documentation. Develops system architecture and system documentation. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers and senior executives. Travel may be required.

Required Skills • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets • Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration
Required Skills: A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical discipline from an accredited college or university. May substitute 4 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Eight (8) years’ experience in technical program management and/or as a system development team lead. At least 50% of this experience shall be in programs with particular relevance to SIGINT, Communications Systems, or Information Technology. Five (5) years’ experience as an engineer in programs that encompassed systems architecture, requirements analysis, design, production, integration, test and transition into operations. Five (5) years engineering experience obtained in an intelligence community environment.

Department Our services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community. Our teams provide a variety of support services related to the maintenance and life cycle sustainment of US Navy, US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol fielded C5I systems. We are focused on the design, systems engineering, project management, procurement, installation, training, testing, and field maintenance of these systems.
