Part-time RN Position Available on First Shift
Part-time position available on first shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm)
Candidates will be required to work every other weekend and every other holiday. The ideal candidate will have either prior experience in a long term care setting or experience working on a short term rehabilitation unit.
A licensed registered nurse who works to promote resident health using assessment skills. Coordinates and communicates as a resident advocate to the physician. Oversees the licensed nurses and nurse aides of all resident care. Serves as nursing administration designee.
Major Responsibilities, Duties, Functions, and Tasks of the Position
Perform responsibilities in accordance with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Standards of Nursing Conduct Serve as a resource person for problem solving on assigned shift or between shifts (may involve other departments) Facilitate teamwork ethic among all nursing staff Maintain adequate staffing through replacement of absent staff Complete and review evaluations with Charge Nurses and Nurse Aides Keep self aware of changes in policies and procedures, follow through on the implementation of these changes, and monitor compliance with changes Respond appropriately during emergency situations and give appropriate direction to team members during emergency situations Assess residents with acute condition changes as requested by Charge Nurses and assess acute resident as listed on 24 hour report and implement appropriate action Complies with Medical Director’s protocols Transcribe physician orders Assess residents Supervise all nursing disciplines related to daily care and routines Communicates with physicians Assume management of the facility in the absence of the DON and NHA Support Team Members on duty by assisting with admissions, discharges, room moves, charting, feeding and if necessary, providing patient care Reports nursing service need to the Director of Nursing and communicate and implements all administrative and facility directive to nursing personnel Supports the planning and scheduling of nursing education program for all levels of personnel Counsels employees and initiates disciplinary procedures when appropriate Make recommendations for suspension and termination to Director of Nursing Promotes personal and professional growth of staff. Conducts or designates charge nurse to conduct wing conference per shift at least quarterly Makes recommendation related to recruiting, promotion, and discharged of personnel to the Director of Nursing Assist charge nurses in assessing the condition of residents and planning for nursing management. Advises and assists nurses in administering new or unusual treatments Establishes and maintains effective interdepartmental working relationships Cooperates in providing a safe environment and maintaining a high level of morale for resident and nursing personnel Actively participates in care planning either by advising updates or by attending Care Plan meeting Assumes responsibility for the administrative functions in the absence of the Director of Nursing, keeping Administration informed of departmental developments through oral and/or written reports Assign staff, as appropriate Check all new admission physicians’ orders for accuracy and completeness of detail Ensure that personnel take breaks/meal as assigned Notify physicians as appropriate of pertinent information on residents Participate in physician rounds as appropriate Assess the condition of the residents on the unit Make rounds on all of the residents Administer medications Monitor the care being given to residents Notify physicians and families of pertinent information, changes in condition and incidents Accompany MD on their rounds Discuss residents rehabilitation progress with the therapists Administer treatments as necessary and chart appropriately Participate in admissions, deaths and transfers per facility policy and request Assist in tracking residents behavior and document appropriately and inform Social services Discuss medication concerns with pharmacist as appropriate Inform families of resident condition changes as needed. Perform the responsibilities of the LPN’s and CNA’s, as needed Immediately report resident related care concerns about treatment or abuse to the Department Supervisor as well as the Executive Director of the facility Interact with Team Members, Residents, and Guests in a courteous and professional manner Be accountable for all information in the Team Member Handbook Maintain confidentiality of resident, Team Member, family and facility information Understand and upholds Resident Rights Follow each Residents Plan of Care Follow oral and written instructions for all duties assigned and performed in an effective, timely and professional manner Complete assigned tasks in accordance with organization, facility, and department procedures Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Use supplies in an efficient and cost effective manner Ensure equipment is treated with proper care and is used only for the purposes and in accordance for which it was designed to be used for Follow facility reporting guidelines for any equipment that is not functioning properly or is need of repair Use Infection control practices, including Standard Precautions, to prevent the spread of diseases Maintain cleanliness of work area *Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, as directed Complete all documentation per facility protocol and Standards of Practice Follow all IT protocols, including submission of Sysaids, for all technology related issues Answer call bells and assist as able
