We're committed to peak performance, improving the quality of life, and embracing and leveraging diverse backgrounds, cultures and talents to achieve competitive advantage.Novartis is actively seeking a Sourcing Manager for Raw Materials and Analytical Services Professional to join our team in our Morris Plains, New Jersey location.The sourcing manager for raw materials and analytical services will be part of the dedicated Cell and Gene Therapies procurement group.Major Accountabilities:Work with raw materials global category manager to coordinate qualification/testing of alternate products and drive long term reduction in cost of goods. * Manage relationship with key distributors and ensure appropriate KPIs are established and implemented*Accountable for delivery of solutions that maximize efficiencies and deliver cost savings in the services sub category * Negotiate supply agreements for with key suppliers of services and direct materials to ensure business continuity*Support project teams with identification, evaluation, negotiation and management of projects to deliver maximum overall value*Develop strong partnership key technical and finance stakeholders to drive spend efficiencies and operational excellence *Apply all Procurement levers (Demand, Process, Supply, Innovation) in identifying solutions and opportunities with scientific stakeholders to deliver savings and process efficiencies.The sourcing manager will help develop and set the category strategy, take part in direct materials sourcing projects including but not limited to demand management, supplier selection and contract negotiations.EEO StatementMinimum requirementsBachelor's degree required at a minimum, Master's degree preferred; in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field.Strong preference for CIPS, CPSMAt least three years' experience in working with direct materials and services in the pharmaceutical industry with a broad understanding of pharmaceutical development* Demonstrated experience in advanced negotiation techniques and contracting procedures*Excellent written and verbal communication skills *Experience in implementing innovative procurement strategies to drive value*Proven ability to lead complex projects with cross functional teamsDivisionNBSBusiness UnitPROCUREMENT NBSCountryUSAWork LocationMorris PlainsCompany/Legal EntityNovartis CorporationFunctional AreaProcurementJob TypeFull TimeEmployment TypeRegularThe Novartis Group of Companies are Equal Opportunity Employers and take pride in maintaining a diverse environment.
