JOB DETAILSFINANCE SPECIALIST JOB ID R1003882 TYPE Employee - Full Time LOCATION Marlton STANDARD HOURS 40 SUMMARY:Responsible to support various areas within the finance department.Ensure compliance with payroll and/or accounting policies and procedures.Responsible for financial data reports and analyses to meet established timeframes for completion and delivery.Responsible for providing exceptional services to all internal and external customers.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:* Responsible for creating, reviewing, and approving daily transactions on time according to predefined schedules. Ensuring compliance with laws and policies related financial transactions and processes. Transactions can include business expenses, time records, cash receipts, garnishments, journal entries, bank deposits, procurement expenses, etc.* Ensures accurate recordings of financial transactions by analyzing reports and researching discrepancies. (i.e. mis-swipe time records, deductions, business expense receipts, bank deposits, check registers, cash logs, etc.)* Ensures petty cash and change fund reports, custodial forms, and analyses are accurate.* Responsible for final approval to process business expenses. Maintains and updates regularly all documentation.* Creates and maintains spreadsheets and databases to ensure proper recording of system transactions.* Responsible for communicating with internal and external customers to support payroll or accounting functions, and ensuring the proper recording of time and attendance as well as accounting transactions.*Provides on the spot training and mentoring to achieve proper use of Virtua s employee systems.* Collaborates with staff to create best practice standards and participates on projects including design, testing and implementation of new systems and processes.* Participates in quality improvement through suggestions made to increase our service level and efficiency.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:One to three years in general business office experience preferably in accounting or payroll.Ability to work independently to achieve goals, innovate procedures, and prioritize work assignments.Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Must have a working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel.Thorough knowledge of accounting or payroll software packages.REQUIRED EDUCATION:HS graduate or equivalent required.Accounting classes a plus.
