3M is seeking an Electrical Reliability and Maintenance Engineer for the Plant Engineering Organization located at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.
The person hired for the position of Electrical Reliability and Maintenance Engineer will lead the effort to support and maintain Lab, Office, Pilot Plant, Utility Plant and Data Center Facilities. The 3M Center Campus is integral to the worldwide operation of 3M. The Electrical Reliability and Maintenance Engineering position at 3M St. Paul Plant Engineering is critical to the support of the electrical distribution system maintenance operations, to assure safe and reliable equipment operation and to implement infrastructure renewal.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Coordinate ongoing electrical distribution maintenance and repair of the Lab, Office, Pilot Plant, Utility Plant and Data Center Facilities at 3M Center.
Forecast equipment replacement and renewal insuring continued asset utilization while controlling capital costs.
Create, justify, and champion electrical distribution projects.
Update and modify drawings
Perform failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) to develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include equipment checks and Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM)
Perform periodic PPM effectiveness assessment reviews and implement revisions to optimize system performance, system reliability and electrical system integrity.
Periodically review preventive maintenance plans to assure optimum process and frequency of performance, for reliability and Electrical Integrity needs
Provide electrical / systems engineering assistance to maintenance and operations including: troubleshooting, evaluation of equipment failures, and technical recommendations for repairs and upgrades, providing ownership of improvements.
Provide on-call support for emergencies or maintenance activities.
NOTE: This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.
Associate’s Degree/Technical diploma or higher from an accredited learning institution
Minimum of four (4) years of Electrical experience in a manufacturing or production environment (private, public, government or military)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
Journeyman or Master Electrician
Data Center Experience
Medium Voltage Experience
PLC & HMI programming
Problem solving skills with a troubleshooting mindset
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate up, down and across the organization
Effective interpersonal skills
Location: Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 10% travel
Relocation: Is not authorized
