Are you passionate about Continuous integration, building a deployment pipeline, enabling software developers perform at their best by automating everything and creating a high performing Linux infrastructure then this opportunity is for you.

At Cobham SATCOM we have started our agile journey and we are building our DevOps capabilities and an essential part of this is to be able to build a new Linux based infrastructure and continue to support the current setup at the same time. The person we are looking for, will be based in the R&D; department alongside 80+ software developers and will work closely with our IT department. You will be part of a team of two.

This role is based in Lyngby, Copenhagen.

Experience with some or all of the following is required:
  • Experience setting up a Continuous Integration platform and working with software developers

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a DevOps engineer, Linux administrator or software engineer with a passion for DevOps

  • Familiar with operating application and databases like Apache webserver and PostgreSQL

  • Network communication in Linux

  • Scripting using BASH andPython

  • Configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef

  • Software development tools (eg. gcc, GNU Make, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Gerrit, Bugzilla, Twiki and ReviewBoard)

  • Basic VMware, Amazon Web Services and Docker knowledge

  • Implementation of formal processes (ISO27000 / ISO27001) and experience from a regulated industry is a great advantage

  • An agile mindset is a must

It is important that you are used to work independently on tasks and feel comfortable taking initiatives on your own to improve and update the build environment. You should be able to argue your solutions to colleagues in the R&D; organization. Be service-minded, have an can-do-attitude and be able to motivate your colleagues to do the right thing.

Your main responsibilities will involve:
  • Operating our software build environment and ensure high uptime

  • Managing users, network and rights

  • Installation and configuration of new systems and applications

  • Developer support

  • Drive projects related to the development of new function to our software tools

  • Follow the new trends and ways of working in the DevOps space and advertise it to the organization

The position requires a broad knowledge and desire to work with Linux systems in many different configurations and setups. The workdays can be hectic with a mix of development and support, and you will get to work broadly with the engineers in the R&D; department.
