Performs highly responsible personal, educational or other counseling and/or training to individuals or groups. Responsibilities involve the provision of counseling services to individuals and groups in order that these individuals might achieve more effective personal, social, educational, and/or vocational development. Work is performed under general supervision with much latitude for independent judgment. Performance evaluation is based on the appropriateness and effectiveness of selected counseling methods and techniques and the attainment of other desired objectives. May supervise other counselors.
Texas Tech University Student Counseling Center invites applications for a Staff Psychologist/Counselor position (TTU job title: Counseling Psychologist; start date negotiable). This is a full time position with full staff benefits. The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of dedicated professionals committed to fostering a multiculturally supportive environment. Responsibilities include providing culturally sensitive counseling and psychological services to students; supervision of graduate student trainees (doctoral psychology interns and/or graduate practicum students); outreach programming to campus community. The Student Counseling Center employs 13 senior staff members, 4 full-time doctoral psychology interns, several part-time masters and doctoral level practicum students, 1 case manager, and 3 support staff.
Minimum Hire Rate:
Experience with university populations, including clinical and programming experience with diverse students.
Candidates at both the masters and doctoral level will be considered for this position.

Master's degree in related area. Thorough knowledge of the application and evaluation of testing and counseling techniques. Ability to conceptualize and prioritize goals and objectives. Ability to relate to people from all walks of life and communicate effectively with them.
