City of Hutchinson Sewer Maintenance Worker in Hutchinson, Kansas

Under the supervision of the Sewer Maintenance Supervisor, the Sewer Maintenance Worker assists with the maintenance of the sanitary and storm sewer systems. Maintaining sewer lines and operating department equipment are the primary responsibilities of this position. This employee should possess a strong mechanical aptitude and effective communication and public relation skills.

Environmental Conditions & Physical Demands

Adverse working conditions exist within this position. Exposure to blood borne pathogens, hazardous chemicals, heavy machinery, excessive noise, permit required work in confined spaces, and all types of weather conditions is expected. This employee is exposed to sewage and other potentially infectious materials while cleaning sewers, operating department equipment, and performing sewer repairs.
