U.S. Bank Alternative Investment - Senior Financial Reporting Accountant in HACKENSACK, New Jersey
Works as part of a team responsible for providing financial statements for a wide variety of alternative investment funds. Analyzes operational structure and yearly activities of funds with different investment strategies and products. Maintains financial reporting workbooks throughout the year. Creates automated financial reporting solutions using advanced Excel skills. Coordinates annual audits and information flow among fund managers, trading advisors and auditors. Oversees compliance of financial statements with US GAAP. Performs accounting research and analyzes new accounting pronouncements as related to alternative investment companies. Provides peer reviews of financial reports. Participates in ad-hoc financial reporting projects as required.
This position requires overtime work during the first quarter when year-end financial statements are prepared.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent experience
Five or more years of experience in portfolio/partnership accounting
Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
Advanced knowledge of Advent applications (Geneva) preferred
In-depth knowledge and understanding of portfolio accounting and the investment management industry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven team-oriented and organizational skills
CPA or CFA certification preferred
Audit experience preferred
