LEGOLAND Florida Resort is looking for a Trade Sales Executive - Travel Industry Sales to join the LEGOLAND Florida Resort Team.

About the Role:

Plans, implements and manages a comprehensive sales and marketing plan that includes strategy for attaining sales quotas relative to revenue and attendance for contracted clients across the trade sales department, including, but not limited to,corporate, military, AAA and online travel agents.Generates sales from assigned territory through contract negotiation and strategic account management. Develops customer base through cold calling and attending networking activities. Contributes to marketing and advertising activations through the utilization of research information and contact management. Assists in the development of sales materials for targeted markets and coordinates participation in channel specific events and tradeshows. Develops promotional trade campaigns that increase visibility, drive resort attendance, and maintain a high profile in the tourism community Ensures excellence in customer service.

  • Formulates, implements and manages a strategic multi-level sales and marketing plan that includes strategy for achieving established promotional, quarterly and annual sales targets for revenue and attendance across trade sales channels including, but not limited to, corporate, military, AAA and online travel agents.

  • Develop individual sales objectives, co-operative marketing strategy and business plans for all contracted clients within assigned portfolio.

  • Develops budgets and aligns programs and activities to support marketing and business objectives through effective program development, coordination, and utilization of internal and external resources.

  • Manages assigned channels by developing exceptional business relationships with key contacts in market. Studies existing and potential volume, and utilizes knowledge of markets, sales goals and quotas to determine sales targets and negotiate marketing plans to support sales growth.

  • Expand distribution reach via researching, qualifying and soliciting business through to closing and obtaining the sales contract.

  • Actively participates in industry trade shows and events (including military and AAA), product launches and sales missions on a domestic level. Frequent local and national travel may be required at certain times of year.

  • Stays abreast of competitive set activity, market trends and industry matters and recommends adjustments to all market segment programs.

  • Ensures via liaison with the Trade Sales Coordinator, that in-market collateral is up to date and that all sales locations, including military bases and AAA offices, have appropriate materials to promote LEGOLAND Florida effectively.

  • Conducts sales presentations and product/ticketing system training – either in-person or via webinars - utilizing knowledge of the attractions, features and guest experience at LEGOLAND Florida Resort to increase awareness and drive sales.

  • Via weekly meeting with line manager, reports on current trading results and attendance/revenue forecasts per assigned channel.

  • Ensure all contracted clients are fully up to date regarding current park information, pricing and special events via newsletters, telephone calls, office visits and email.

  • Conducts sales calls and monthly business reviews to existing client base to ensure marketing and sales objectives are on track to be met or exceeded.

  • Develops and participates in LEGOLAND Florida Resort familiarization tours.

  • Creates, implements and tracks incentive programs for client call centers and sales agents within assigned territories to motivate and drive ticket sales.

  • Coordinates all aspects of special events/projects/promotions as it relates to assigned sales channels, including planning, implementing programs, budget management and evaluating ROI of each event.

  • Ensures that accurate and up to date CRM across assigned client base is maintained.

  • Submits ticket and work orders for key clients and maintains accurate records.

  • Participates in weekly sales meeting and shares assigned channel information with fellow sales representatives to increase team knowledge and effectiveness.

  • Provides feedback regarding planned/existing client programs and current business results.

  • Effective management and reporting of channel specific marketing budgets.

  • Actively represents LEGOLAND FLORIDA in travel industry organizations.

  • Serves as a contributing member on the Marketing Team.

  • Additional duties as assigned. About You:

  • Requires at least three years of progressive sales experience in the tour or travel field with a theme park, hotel/resort, travel agency or related industry.

  • Requires a track record of success in negotiating, developing and implementing multi-level tour and travel industry campaigns at key account level, with demonstrated ability to utilize local, regional, and national markets to accomplish key sales objectives.

  • Requires strong tour and travel contacts (local, regional, national) with an in-depth understanding of the travel industry. Requires demonstrated experience and strategic skills in all market segments of the tour and travel industry. Ability to set and achieve promotional and sales objectives, and effectively coordinate and manage contacts in domestic market segments is required.

  • Requires professional selling skills, demonstrated skill in making speeches and presentations, and outstanding organizational, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong leadership, ambition, team building and project management skills required.

  • Computer proficiency with ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and database software is required.

  • Requires the ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within the travel industry to position and promote LEGOLAND FLORIDA. Knowledge and understanding of electronic ticketing systems an advantage. Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or closely related field (or equivalent education and experience) is required.
