In this position you will be responsible for leading and growing a business area of two or more R&D segments including IP/MPLS, IP telephony, and mobile networking. Also, responsible for quality management, process development/improvement, and overall customer satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction for technical/program management for contracts in various technologies

  • Serve as primary customer point of contact for existing business area programs and new business development

  • Identify government specific needs, develop strategic direction for profitable growth, and create/execute implementation strategies for new and existing programs

  • Identify business opportunities with new and existing customers to create a procurement vehicle, lead/contribute to proposal teams to generate responsible and competitive proposals, and follow through with customer until contract award

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for technical center of excellence

  • Establish and monitor budgets, schedules and resource planning

  • Provide staff leadership and oversight to include selection, performance management, career development and workload management

  • Establish process improvements to increase work efficiency, product quality and overall customer satisfaction

  • Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary

  • Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies

  • Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as required

  • If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position


To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical discipline and 8-10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience

  • Master’s Degree preferred

  • Experience in the successful management of advanced technology projects – software and/or hardware

  • Experience in coaching and supervision of technical staff and building customer relationships

  • Strategic/visionary thinker

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership in establishing organizational goals, implementing value-added process improvements, and building high performance R&D and/or production teams with a strong customer focus

  • Ability to select, build and motivate high performance work teams

  • Technical expertise in two of the following R&D segment areas:

  • IP/MPLS network assurance/reverse engineering/security assessments

  • IP Telephony network assurance/reverse engineering/security assessments

  • Mobile network assurance/reverse engineering/security assessments

  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Detailed knowledge of cybersecurity and IP networking technology and trends

  • Detailed knowledge of C/C++ software development processes and practices

  • Understanding US federal government technology requirements in cybersecurity and IP networking

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a business

  • Passion for profitably growing the business consistent with corporate, P&L, and department level strategic plans
