U.S. Bank Senior Risk Modeler in Chicago, Illinois
Participate in the full lifecycle of statistical modeling project in support of credit card portfolio. Project starting from model design, analysis, model development, documentation, recommendation to senior management and lines of business, work with model governance team for audit, implementation, prior/post production testing, performance monitoring and validation.
Participate in new account acquisitions, portfolio management and collection credit scorecard projects as needed
Prepare data for modeling, validation or ad-hoc analysis from internal/external data sources
Analyze internal and external data for segmentation and validation
Develop and validate scorecards for modeling probability of default using traditional techniques including Linear/logistic Regression and decision tree. Machine learning techniques such as Cluster Analysis, Gradient Boosting and Random Forest may also be used.
Complete model documentation post development according to regulatory and compliance requirements
Support model implementation and monitor production activities post development
Determine, develop and document data requirements, modeling assumptions and model results for best practice methodologies deployed and alternatives approaches considered
Work with lines of business to ensure models are business-driven and empirically derived
Communicate with and respond to internal model validation team for risk model approval, and the management of model inventory
Support risk and operation teams to successfully operationalize newly developed models
Any ad-hoc duties from senior management and lines of business
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
-Minimum of five plus years’ of related work experience (in financial industry) in building statistical models and advanced data analysis.
- Applied experience with Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, Time Series Analysis, Decision Trees, and Cluster Analysis.
•Advanced programming skills to include knowledge of statistical programs (e.g. SQL, SAS, and R).
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and implement rapid changes in project direction.
•Proven project management skills.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills required
•Ph.D. or Master Degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred
