Leake and Watts Services COS FFT-CW Therapist in Bronx, New York

Therapist will serve families under COS or at risk of being placed under COS, as identified during the Child Safety Conference, and the child remains with the respondent parent. The FFT-CW Therapist provides treatment services for children and youth assigned to her/his caseload following the Functional Family Therapy practice. The FFT-CW Therapist participates in all FFT training and consultation activities, program reviews, and markets the FFT-CW model to the community.

  • Therapist must meet with assigned families immediately following Child Safety Conferences (CSCs) where COS services have been recommended.

  • Therapist must engage and assess families, complete service intake, and begin collaboration with FSU and FCLS.

  • Therapist are required to participate in all family court hearings, provide written court reports, and collaborate with the Family Service Unit (FSU) of the Division of Child Protection (DCP) and Family Court Legal Services (FCLS) in preparation for hearings.

  • Therapist will provide the model specific intervention to no more than 8 families.

  • Therapist will provide services / support to families throughout the court ordered supervision period which is typically 12 months.

  • Therapist will conduct assessment including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit problem behaviors within the ecological context.

  • Therapist will engage primary caregiver other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.

  • Therapist will implement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcome review and strategy revision procedure using the model’s Analytic Process.

  • Therapist will maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with model Analytic Process.

  • Therapist will collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure their buy-in and cooperation throughout treatment.

  • Therapist will participate in all model program training, supervision and consultation activities.

  • Therapist will provide home-based clinical treatment.

HOURS AND REMUNERATIONS:

  • Scheduled appropriate to the needs of client and families. This position calls for a forty (40) hour work week, but more than 40 hours per week may from time to time be required. When emergency calls occur, it may be necessary for the Therapist to be available either by telephone or in person. Remuneration is based on training, experience and qualifications.
