Assist workers engaged in preparing foods for restaurant by performing a combination of duties. Also, to produce all orders on an a la carte basis and to prep for buffets, banquets, salad bars and hors d’ oeuvres.
Display good customer relation skills and take initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management; complete safety training and certifications.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Must be able to “prep” food products for line and banquet consumption, using standardized food preparation techniques.
Wash, peel, cut, and seed vegetables and fruits; clean, and cut meats, poultry, and seafood; stir and strain soups and sauces, etc.
Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
Date all food containers and rotate as per the SOP, making sure perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator.
Store foods in designated areas, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and food spoilage. Maintain sanitary regulations of food temperatures. Rotate all products.
Maintain work area, including all counter tops, utensils, equipment, garbage, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with state, county, and company health regulations and work safety regulations.
Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment, using hand truck. Prepare and organize work area.
Prepare all cold sauces, dressings, salads, and desserts for customer service, salad bar, buffets, banquets, and tableside service. Prepare all orders as turned in by wait staff and to ensure all orders are cooked quickly and according to order; also ensure food leaves kitchen in peak condition.
Maintain high standard of personal hygiene in compliance with state, county, and company policy.
Report to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
Other duties as assigned.
Skillfully use hand tools or machines needed for your work including knives, slicers, blenders, and food processors
Read and follow recipes of the items to be prepared.
Measure, cut, or otherwise work on materials or objects with great precision.
Use arithmetic/geometry to figure amounts of material needed, dimensions to be followed and cost of materials.
Must have the ability to follow instructions and to perform assigned tasks with limited supervision.
Accept responsibility for the accuracy of work as completed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum three (3) months food service or related work
