Seattle Genetics is seeking a highly motivated Senior Program Manager who will be responsible for managing cross-functional product development for clinical stage assets. This position drives product development planning and operations through the Global Product Team in coordination with sub-teams. This role will report directly to the Head of Program Management.


  • Strong partner with team leader to advance products through development

  • Coordinate the development of global product development strategies leveraging functional expertise of the teams

  • Ensure execution of cross functional deliverables is informed by program strategy

  • Use strong project and organizational knowledge, leadership and active facilitation to drive effective team meetings

  • Support decision making for teams to ensure cross functional implications are captured

  • Identify and manage critical path issues and challenges to enable forward planning

  • Develop, maintain, track, and manage high-quality, integrated project plans to drive forward planning, program reporting, and support decision making

  • Lead program risk management including the facilitation of mitigation and contingency planning for key program risks

  • Key partner in the functional excellence of Seattle Genetics’ Program Management through capture of key lessons learned, setting smart standards, and a focus on continuous improvement

  • Develop yearly program goals and annual program budget assumptions, and ensure integration of these goals with corporate objectives

  • Mentor team members to ensure execution is informed by program strategy


  • 6+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience with a minimum of 4 years of experience in global drug development program management

  • Demonstrated ability to derive strategic insights and provide strategic guidance to product development teams

  • Adaptive leadership style to influence teams without formal authority to maximize team performance

  • Strong experience facilitating project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, and ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organization

  • Solutions-oriented with strong problem-solving skill

  • Proven leadership skills, maturity, emotional intelligence

  • Preference for demonstrated success with late stage to launch global product development


Bachelor’s Degree required. Scientific degree and/or disciplines related to drug development. Advanced degree (MS, MBA, Ph.D) highly preferred.
