The Writer/Editor is responsible for the quality of training products.


  • Maintain quality, accuracy, and currency of computer based training.

  • Copyedit, proofread and content edit division products including course components, facilitation materials.

  • Update and rewrite existing training products, referred to as Maintenance

  • Assist in writing and customizing component parts of learning and development programs

  • Assist in the design and creation of new document templates

  • Develop job aids to support client needs

  • Provide organized editorial feedback that clearly communicates proposed revisions and writing improvement

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Coordinate with Course Manager, SMEs and Visual Information Specialist in the preparation of text related to illustrations/artwork.

  • Verify facts, clarify discrepancies, and expand or condense information covered, as required.

  • Examine text material related to photographs, charts, illustrations, maps and other illustrative material for appropriateness and accuracy and to determine need for same.

  • Participate in Formal Course Review (FCR) and Course Content Review Boards (CCRB), as directed, to keep abreast of changes in course material. Schedule, location and live/virtual participation as directed by Leadership and Audit Academy Branch Managers.

  • Work with Audit and Leadership Academy Course Managers to help create stories, exercises, case studies, etc. to achieve intended learning objectives.


  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and edit the content, structure, and format of a wide range of products, both written and digital

  • Keen attention to detail to ensure high quality, error-free processes and products

  • Demonstrated ability to express ideas clearly and logically in writing and verbally

  • Effective organizational and time management skills; able to work quickly with accuracy

  • Knowledge of effective planning and scheduling techniques

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (relationship building, influencing, active listening)

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with the major laws concerning copyright


  • Bachelor’s degree required; English, Communications, or related field desired

  • 5-8 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified

  • Learning and development industry and learning content management system experience desired.
