Description

Manages intake processing of new studies, performing initial review and determination of research subjects' status and routes protocols accordingly.

  • Responsible for ensuring the institution's compliance with policies regarding the use of research subjects.

  • Develops, directs, and implements compliance program components including protocol and consent form review, record keeping, monthly and annual reporting, program evaluation and other compliance issues that meet the applicable government and local regulations and the institution's policies and practices.

  • Proactively identifies protocols that need special review or assistance.

  • Secures the cooperation or and negotiates with University personnel, University departments, and members of the community.

  • Provides guidance to PIs and Research Staff regarding IRB/IACUC processes and requirements.

  • Attends IRB/IACUC Committee meetings and manages the protocol access for both eIRB and paper study files.

  • Records the official actions of the committee.

  • Delegates administrative items to IRB/IACUC Analyst Assistants and oversees task completion.

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding subjects, records, and review of issues.

Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Requires extensive knowledge of complex Federal, State and Local regulations and human subjects' research.

  • Excellent computer skills to include MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) and data base management.
