Job Summary

AECOM DC Design Studio is seeking for a creative, highly talented Landscape Designer to work on a wide range of regional and global projects at all stages of planning, design and implementation. Our design practice provides a small studio feel with the resources and exposure available to us by being part of a multidisciplinary office including urban design, architecture, Economics and engineering.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

  • Develops planning and creative design concepts for projects

  • Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings

  • Works under only general direction

  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions

  • Adapts and modifies design features and operational methods under general supervision of a manager or senior manager to meet project specifications

  • Works with clients as well as the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to execution and completion

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture OR Bachelor in Architecture + Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and SketchUp

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Registration considered a plus.

  • Experience in Rhino, Revit, ArcGIS, and other computer applications is highly desired

  • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills

  • Collaborative and team oriented

  • Strong knowledge/interest in plant materials is preferred

  • Experienced preparing construction documents
