ManTech Network Engineer in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

ManTech is seeking an experienced Network Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD supporting a Federal Agency.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze Network accesstrends and resolve bandwidth management issues for mission critical systems.

  • Implement, troubleshoot, monitor and maintainall aspects LAN/WAN/VPN/ networks for high availability of paralleldevelopment, testing and production environments.

  • Review SNMP alerts, useprotocol-line analyzers (sniffers) and conduct log forensics in order todetermine root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues.

  • Collaborate withSoftware and Database Developers, Windows and Linux Server Administrators andSecurity personnel to analyze Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)requirements, troubleshoot anomalies and determine appropriate firewallconfiguration implementation.

  • Draft and submitrecommended change request proposals necessary for timely mitigation ofPOA&Ms and CVE findings. Maintain systemcompliance with DHS\FISMA IT Security and Information Assurance objectivesconcerning privacy of passenger screening information.


Requires Bachelor s degree in (Computer Science, Math or Engineering) or equivalent, and four to six years of related experience. The ideal candidate will have

the ability to:

  • Work on individual tasks, aswell as team-oriented tasks

  • Prioritize competing priorities

  • Work under a cross-matrixmanagement structure

  • To be on-call andrespond in a timely manner (required)

  • Should be a quick learner

  • Must be able to adapt to quicklyevolving technology and priority changes

  • Have a desire to work closelywith other members of the IT/development team

  • Candidate should be a proactiveself-starter with exceptional follow up skills.

  • Must possess excellent written & verbal communication skills.
