Smart Warehousing Regional Director in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Description of Position

The Regional Director is responsible for supporting, managing, executing operations, technology initiatives, budgeting, labor and projects in the field operations. Facilitate communication and manage relationships with external partners, VP of operations, field leaders and internal support departments. Responsible for implementing, communicating, maintaining, supporting the operations of all company owned warehouses within the region. Ensure and follow policies, procedures, and standards of Smart Warehousing and consistently communicate these standards pertaining to the customer experience, associate satisfaction, safety, food safety and the Smart Warehousing brand. Establish service levels and key performance indicators to ensure optimal performance, communicate executable expectations that will enable the company’s strategic business objectives to be achieved. Recommend and oversee the ordering of supplies, and equipment ensuring adherence to fiscal discipline, effective distribution and sufficient quantities to ensure success. Manage the flow of relevant and accurate business information to the region’s team.


  • ·Develop objectives and strategies for warehouses, monitor performance against these objectives and provide feedback to site leadership and team members

  • ·Create standard operating procedures and best practices in terms of performance monitoring to optimize quality and delivery time

  • ·Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the company’s operations

  • ·Integrate the technology, quality, purchasing and logistics functions to support process excellence.

  • ·Lead, support, motivate, direct and retain high-caliber staff

  • ·Strive to achieve world-class supply chain, warehousing, and logistics operations

  • ·Promotes “total customer satisfaction” (delivery, quality etc.) within all Operations teams.

  • ·Ensure employee safety and compliance

  • ·Manage logistics and processes. Implement improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization

  • ·Continually investigate and introduce process improvement measures

  • ·Build an open and honest communication line with the organization

  • ·Interact regularly individual department heads to ensure that company’s operational priorities are aligned with total company direction

  • ·Prepare and submit monthly reports

  • ·20-25% Travel required

  • ·Manage the regional P&L to meet or exceed company expectations


  • ·7 - 10+ years of broad logistics and supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions

  • ·Ability to manage Third Party Logistics (3PL), freight companies and other logistics suppliers

  • ·Supplier negotiation skills, proven cost reduction efforts and experience with contracts

  • ·Demonstrable analytical abilities to assess financial impacts of any changes to logistics service requirements

  • ·In depth knowledge and experience with key supply chain/logistics processes, best practices, and implementing process improvements

  • ·Excellent computer skills including advanced skills in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • ·Strong analytical, financial & P&L skill required

  • ·A high sense of urgency & the ability to build & lead strong teams to achieve new levels of performance

  • ·Experience supporting and developing emerging markets

  • ·Experience directing the operations in a multi-site supply chain system

  • ·BS/BA or equivalent required
