The Sales Engineer II - National is responsible for providing proactive pre-sales technical support and guidance to the sales organization in support of Datacenter Technologies, including Networking, Servers and Storage. This position will maintain industry standard certifications and provide advanced level technical assistance to sales, including qualifying opportunities, developing solution selling scenarios creating complex configurations, and other technical renderings. The Sales Engineer III - National is also responsible for coordinating resources to gather information to develop solutions on behalf of the Account Executive.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Must hold all baseline certifications, Partner specialization and Advanced level Industry standard certifications within a specific technology
Consults with both sales and external clients in assessing needs and providing Advanced technical support on complex technology requests via conference call, e-mail and occasionally will client face
Maintains a high knowledge level of partner programs and be able to educate sales accordingly
Must have a working knowledge of all Partner configuration tools
Creates technically accurate solutions using vendor configuration tools and creates deliverable within specified SLA’s
Explains the value of warranty and recommends higher levels (or extensions) based on mission critical hardware.
Inquires and educates sales/clients on Insight’s service offerings
Solution sells across multiple technology platforms. (can speak to areas outside of discipline at a general level)
Follows up with Sales on Strategic Deals and Proactively leads client/AE Calls Based on Previous Experience/Knowledge of deal/account
Proactively gathers, delivers and/or creates client deliverables - Technology Data Sheets, side by side manufacturer comparisons, Overview of recommendations, etc.
Strategize with SSE/SE/SA to develop optimal solutions which can include extending/up selling warranties, maximizing Insight Services capabilities, 3rd party Services Providers
Provides training and mentoring to Sales Engineer I & II - National
Maintains a superior level of customer service with both internal/ external clients
Builds Relationships with relevant Partner/Manufacturer resources. Examples: Inside Channel Support Resources/Cisco Technical Field

Education and/or Experience
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Technology and/or 3-5 years on the job experience or outside experience in similar field)
Advanced level of understanding in technologies.
Holds Advanced level industry standard certifications within a specific technology
Professionalism and solid phone skills are a must.
Must be self-driven and able to work with minimal direction
Insight may require the Sales Engineer III - National to achieve and maintain certifications on behalf of the company for various manufacturers. In those cases the teammate will be reimbursed for the training and related travel in conjunction with Insight’s policies. The teammate will be asked to sign training waivers in advance of the training to ensure Insight receives maximum benefit for the investment.
