Position Summary

The person in this position will assist in developing and implementing Alexion’s EMEA ethics and compliance program specifically this role will have responsibility for:

  • Support the implementation of the compliance program, processes and systems in the region EMEA. Serving as a compliance business partner for Alexion’s EMEA providing business, ethics and compliance advice and training to enhance business operations.

  • Support the development and deliver compliance training to internal/external audiences.

  • Analyzing internal and external ethics and compliance developments and implementing responses to these developments which enhance the global ethics and compliance program.

  • Serving as a member of the EMEA/AA Compliance Team to continuously improve and enhance the global ethics and compliance program.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of: Alexion and its global business operations and strategy; industry laws, regulations and guidelines, Alexion policies, procedures, and guidelines; external legal, regulatory and business developments.

  • Support the Sn Director Compliance to ensure local Compliance policies are available and rolled out

  • Support the SD Compliance EMEA/AA to collaborate with key internal and external business partners in order to support and continuously enhance the Compliance Framework and/or other Compliance related framework focus area

  • Partner with other compliance professionals to gather compliance risk areas including anti-bribery/anti-corruption, transparency, privacy interactions with health care providers and others.

  • Support the implementation of new systems and processes to monitor and audit activities in the region EMEA and support the enhancement the Alexion compliance monitoring and auditing programs.

  • Support the Sn Director Compliance EMEA to monitor the external environment to ensure the implementation of external best practices as well as to respond to future business, ethics and compliance developments.

  • In collaboration with the regional team, support the annual risk based training plan and ensure timely implementation


  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry serving in compliance, legal, audit or related role.

  • Basic functional knowledge of the elements of a pharmaceutical ethics and compliance program. Must possess some knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and its business operations.

  • Demonstrated project management skills; experience in managing projects with cross-functional teams.

  • Business partnering with a focus on collaboration and delivering results.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and organization skills. Fluent English, French or other EU languages is an advantage.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of applicable pharmaceutical industry laws, regulations and guidelines, including privacy, anti-corruption, transparency, customer/patient interactions, etc.


  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
