Job Summary

As Loss Prevention Specialist you will supervise the Loss Prevention team within a Processing Centre, reporting to the Processing Centre Loss Prevention Manager.

You will be required to business partner and influence up to and including the site General Manager to deliver compliance throughout the building. Processing Centres will have an annual processing capacity in excess of 40,000,000 units and a headcount of up to 1500 associates.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Security:

  • Supervising the day to day performance of the site Loss Prevention team to deliver LP strategies and business objectives to protect company assets

  • Partnering with the contract security supplier to ensure that the day by day duties are carried out in line with the agreed assignment instructions

  • Ensures adherence to policy on a daily basis

  • Redirects team and escalates concerns

  • Validates ideas to improve systems and feedback to line manager

  • Validates execution, redirects team and feeds back results

Crime Resolution:

  • Utilise specialist skills and knowledge to drive results

  • Supervises team to identify internal and external crime ensuring consistency, and effective analysis of risk

  • Ensures team consistency in detecting and deterring crime

  • Supports and coaches team to identify and prevent risks

  • Uses feedback from line and colleagues to build on and develop internal and external partnerships

Education & Awareness:

  • Supports and coaches team with specialist advice to identify risks and develop effective solutions

  • Uses feedback from line manager and colleagues to build on and develop internal and external partnerships

  • Delivers awareness programmes and feeds back improvement suggestions

  • Provides advice on local solutions and seeks feedback from line on the effectiveness of programmes

  • Leads the communication of the topic, validates business partners knowledge and awareness and seeks feedback on the content

  • Checks reports and data, takes action to improve performance, trains and coaches associates and team and raises concerns

Operational Compliance:

  • Ensures key areas are measured for compliance, in line with agreed levels and risks

  • Checks reports and data, identifying non-compliance and trends, sharing information and highlighting concerns with business partners

  • Influences business partners to ensure training and awareness programmes are used and coaches team to improve

  • Uses different communications methods including meetings, one to ones and briefs to ensure LP team and associates are fully aware of all exposures

  • Identifies issues which need to be addressed. Works with and influences business partners to take action to resolve

People & Talent:

  • Responsible for developing Self and training / developing the Loss Prevention team

  • Ensures team are competent and supports business partners

  • Coaches and role models the leadership competencies with associates and own team

  • Effective partnering with other functional peers, associates and management on a local basis
