The Nuclear Supply Chain Procurement Specialist will provide procurement, inventory management and technical services in support of nuclear generation department material requirements. As an agent of the corporation, this position also has a fiduciary responsibility and is authorized to negotiate and execute contracts and purchase orders on behalf of Duke Energy.

Responsibilities and duties:

Purchases routine materials & parts and components as well as basic services via contractual agreements with suppliers. Ensures economic, schedule, quality, technical and legal objectives are met when executing purchase orders or contracts for services Achieves cost savings using negotiations, consolidation and purchase requests. Resolves problems or discrepancies with billings or shipments. Engages with suppliers as needed to ensure urgently needed items are delivered to support nuclear plant scheduled work activities Provides support in the resolution of commodity problems while ensuring nuclear plant work activities are supported with material and equipment needs. Utilizes Supply Chain System and Work Control tools to validate material demands while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Determines most economical means of obtaining needed items through intercompany transfers, blanket order development or spots buys Performs duties associated with the identification of materials, components and engineered parts in support of on line, outage and modification work activities. Serves as member of station Emergency Response Organization (ERO Duty) Provides customer service as a single point of contact to plant personnel in support of outages, modifications, planned and unplanned work activities Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal customers and external suppliers. Interfaces with all levels of management in a diverse customer base providing technical and overall material & equipment information in support of station demands. Networks with key suppliers to establish and maintain strong working relationships Job-specific knowledge, skills or abilities:

Microsoft Office Suite, analytical, business acumen & customer service skills Specific Requirements:

Ability to respond to the station when on call within 75 minutes (Emergency Response Organization duty requirement) Work Environment:

Primarily office environment but frequent visits inside the nuclear station Limited travel Use of personal protective equipment as needed (hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe shoes, gloves, and such) Working hours, typically 4-10’s Monday through Thursday with occasional night and weekend shift as required during Unit Outages or Unit Emergencies After hours and weekend duty coverage (take turns being on call for one week at a time) Qualifications: Basic/Required Qualifications:

Four-year degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or Four (4) years of directly related work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree Desired Qualifications:

Current or prior unescorted nuclear plant access Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of station personnel (from craft to management) Work experience in Procurement, Warehousing, or other Supply Chain Processes Demonstrated leadership ability Working knowledge of Power Plant operations Demonstrated ability to perform work according to approved procedures Strong organizational/planning skills with ability to multi-task Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and contribute to team goals Demonstrated effective written/verbal communications and interpersonal skills Demonstrated strong customer service focus / orientation Job: Supply Chain Management
