Job Description:

Position Overview

To perform end-to-end manufacturing of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with applicable cGMPs and NDA requirements. Includes materials management, product documentation, quality control, radiation safety monitoring and production in accordance with regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures. Reports directly to Palo Alto manager.

Responsibilities:

-Perform manufacturing activities to produce and prepare 18F-labeled compounds in strict compliance to written procedures.

-Perform complex quality control analyses in strict compliance to written procedures.

-Use computer-controlled radiosynthesis modules and quality control equipment.

-Use, maintain, and complete documentation in compliance with quality procedures and regulatory requirements.

-Maintain the laboratory and its equipment including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance on QC and chemistry equipment.

-Maintain a clean, clutter free facility and well organized production area and workflow.

-Perform complex manufacturing (cyclotron and chemistry module operation) and quality control processes, under supervision when required by State and/or Federal law.

-Participate in complex inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting, including root cause analysis to support manufacturing and testing processes and equipment.

-Interface with corporate functions for purposes of training, technical support, process changes, data management, reporting, and quality.

-Identify opportunities for improving efficiency in the production process.

-Provide exemplary customer support.

-Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

-Knowledge/Experience: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry required with advanced degree a plus. Consideration given to other science related BS degrees with equivalent experience.

-Experience with 18F radiochemistry is preferred but training will be provided to an otherwise well-qualified chemist.

-Experience with general radiation safety and hazardous material handling or similar technical experience preferred.

-Experience working with analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC, and TLC a plus.

Skills/Abilities:

-Detail oriented, self-directed, able to work autonomously and able to multitask effectively.

-Ability to read, listen and understand technical direction, policies and procedures

-Excellent communication skills

-Basic computer skills such as; Excel, Word and Outlook file creation and manipulation

Physical Demands:

-Clear speech, good hearing and at least 20/20 corrected vision

-Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

-Occasional travel required for training or to support other sites
