Who We Are

The Wells Fargo Operations Compliance & Operational Risk Management (COR) team is responsible for driving the execution and comprehensive view of risk across Operations while instilling a risk management culture where businesses are accountable for understanding and managing their risk. Operations COR provides first-line-of-defense risk management support to drive the execution of the Operations Risk Management Program for our partners, both domestic and international.

What we are looking for

Senior Operational Risk Consultant who will support the assigned business within Operations Services & Delivery (OSD) in all compliance and operational risk activities. This is an exciting opportunity to partner and consult for a highly visible group within the Operations division. The selected individual will work closely with the senior leadership to develop, frame and execute an effective risk management program. This candidate will be an experienced compliance professional, ensuring the Operations compliance program is operating in adherence with all enterprise, federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

As part of the First Line of Defense, this role provides leadership support to ensure that OSD is accountable for risks associated with its activities, current and emerging risk identification, measurement, assessment, control, mitigation, monitoring and reporting.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring all risk management deliverables are met accurately and timely for the assigned business within OSD.

  • Working cross group and cross business to address emerging and existing risks in the environment

  • Partnering with other enterprise Risk Management Compliance Groups to ensure operational excellence and compliance with all enterprise, federal, state, agencies, legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Addressing difficult issues, anticipating emerging issues and taking action to facilitate resolution

  • Maintaining an awareness of risk issues and ensuring appropriate escalation and follow-up takes place.

  • Executing items in the Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) and other systems of record

Preferred locations- Chandler, AZ; Minneapolis, MN; Charlotte, NC; Portland, OR. Other locations will be considered for qualified candidate.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding deposit laws and regulations

  • Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management

  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities

  • Experience with Wells Fargo risk systems such as Shared Risk Platform (SHRP), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), or Control Risk Analysis System (CRAS+)

  • Ability to effectively partner and influence at the executive level

  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations

  • Ability to effectively assess stakeholder, partner, or client needs while consulting, building solutions, and developing processes

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership

  • Experience developing well-defined plans for problem resolution from preliminary or ambiguous information

  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
