Catholic Health Services Ultrasound Technologist in West Islip, New York
Responsible for performing ultrasound examinations on both in and out patients. Sets up equipment, documents patients' complete history and explains the procedures to be performed. Prepares preliminary evaluations and communicates the results to the radiologist. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an AMA approved Ultrasound School required. Must have experience in ultrasound techniques and patient positioning as well as the operation and use of ultrasound equipment. Excellent communication skills required. Must be alert and skilled in appropriately assessing the job to be done and completing a variety of tasks quickly, accurately and in correct sequence. Registry status required with ARDMS to continue employment after one year. Must be CPR certified.
BLS or CPR/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:
1. American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
2. American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
