The Post Production Systems Engineer/Head AE is responsible for media management and the deployment and upkeep of physical post production facilities. They will be managing and maintaining SAN, PAM, and LTO systems, overseeing the ingestion and assistant edit of production footage, maintaining all physical assets such as hard drives and computer stations, and providing technical support to the post department as needed. This role requires general knowledge of production and post production workflows, expertise in offline editing systems including Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro, expert knowledge of digital formats and codecs, and strong technical skills as laid out below.

DUTIES:

Systems Engineer Duties:

• Maintain, support, and troubleshoot 15+ SAN connected editing stations and accompanying software • Maintain VO/ADR booth and accompanying software/hardware • Troubleshoot post software and hardware updates and malfunctions

Media Management Duties:

• Design and oversee media workflows across the post department • Oversee all media, projects, and assets from ingest to archive • Manage the back up and archiving of projects and media, including management of LTO systems • Track and manage all SFX, VFX, and media libraries • Maintain library of physical post assets such as computers, monitors, and hard drives

Head AE Duties:

• Train and oversee assistant editors to meet company expectations • Oversee, train, and delegate post interns • Perform Assistant Editor duties as required including ingesting and transcoding footage • Assist with department related projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years of experience in a professional post production environment • Knowledge of offline editing systems including Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro • Expertise with digital formats and video codecs including 4K, and RED footage • Knowledge of advanced pro codecs / Knowledge of Protools • Experienced running archival systems including LTO • Expert knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Production Asset Management (PAM) software with multiple computer connections, with the ability to troubleshoot any malfunctions and issues
