Summary: The Employee Health Nurse’s main responsibility is to coordinate and deliver Occupational and Employee Health program services. The individual in this position will utilize clinical expertise under the guidance of the Medical Director to facilitate pre-employment screenings, including but not limited to: administer/read PPD skin tests, immunizations & vaccinations; order and evaluate laboratory and radiological studies, facilitate drug screenings, and clear employees for hire. The Employee Health Nurse will work with the Infection Prevention Nurse to manage employee exposures. The EHN will work with the Injury Coordinator on workers’ compensation case management and litigation, management of the transitional duty program, including determination of appropriate modified duty or workplace accommodations. The EHN will work with other multi-disciplinary team members to coordinate safety and prevention measures and support optimum hospital standards, screen employees for return to work from medical leaves and ensure compliance with Federal and State occupational health requirements and standards
Education/Certificates/Licenses: Current valid California RN license with a minimum of 3-5 years in an acute care setting; clinical experience in occupational health, employee health, ambulatory care or emergency medicine is preferred. Baccalaureate degree or higher education required. Knowledge and experience with disability management, basic ergonomics, ADA, FEHA, HIPAA, FMLA, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation statutes, applicable RN/ NP/PA acts and all regulatory requirements. Preferred Certifications: training/certification requirements for 49 CFR Part 40 drug testing, and COHN-S.
