The plant issituated on 438 acres of land in a former wheat field about 40 miles west ofSt. Louis in Wentzville, Missouri. Currently Wentzville assembly produces theChevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups as well as the Chevrolet Express andGMC Savana full size vans. Wentzville employs over 4600 hourly and salaryworkers over three shifts. Recent accolades for Wentzville Assembly includewinning the 2015 and 2016 Motor Trend Truck of the Year with the Colorado andAutoweek’s 2015 Best of the Best Truck with the Canyon.
The Manufacturing Engineering Co-ops will rotate through aseries of positions and assignments aimed to further development andeducate. Types of Manufacturing assignments available include:
Analyzes product, process and technology todetermine the best methods of manufacture in the areas of Electrical,Mechanical, Industrial and Maintenance
Assists in the designand building of tools and equipment or recommends improvements to existingprocesses
Assists maintenance personnel in operation and maintenance of specializedequipment
Troubleshoots special maintenance and equipment problems
Coordinates machinery upgrade projects
Supervise medium to large group of employees involved in plant productionoperations, maintenance, supply chain and quality
Make decisions within the limit of general standards
Apply technical knowledge with some direct guidance from supervisor
Provide technical support/oversight to ensure effective quality control systemsare in place and adhered to
Support Fast Response, reliability testing, analysis and general problemsolving skills and processes
Engage and support resources to assist in root cause identification
Ensure product andprocess changes are documented in appropriate systems
Perform Layered Auditsand address non-conformances
Effectively address and respond to customer concerns via problem solving andlocal procedures
Initiate and monitor containment efforts
Collect, analyze and react to data regarding First Time Quality
Ensure compliance toPFMEA's and PCP's, and GMS requirements
May handle site auditrequirements and Built in Quality certification process
Supply Chain Analyst
Planning and/or scheduling of manufactured or purchased products
Plans and schedulesproduction or procurement considering mix, manpower, machine capabilities,material availability and customer requirements
Makes decisions and/or recommendations having substantial impact on plantoperation and performance
Provides follow-up assistance in assuring maximum schedule performance
Monitors, controls, and publishes inventory reports
Regular contact with others outside the work group

Seeking students currently working on undergraduate or graduate degrees in thefollowing disciplines:
- Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing and others)
- Engineering Technology
- Manufacturing Technology
- Operations or Production Management
- Supply Chain Management
Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Knowledge of basic math
- High level oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic technology of area where assigned

- Willingness to learn high volume manufacturing processes and procedures

- Ability to read part and machine prints
- Willingness to learn and to implement GMS principles (lean manufacturing)
