Washington State Senior Auditor 3 - Refund & Deferral Unit in Washington

The location of this position will be determined based upon the current location of the successful candidate.
The Department of Revenue has two fantastic opportunities within the Audit Division as a Senior Auditor 3. This is a non-permanent opportunity expected to last 18 months.
In this position you will serve as a senior auditor and technical expert verifying refund and deferral request audits of the largest or most technically diverse business organizations. You will evaluate business activities and accounting records to determine if taxpayers are in compliance with applicable tax laws and have correctly reported their tax liability. Additionally, you will be responsible for audits relating to refund and deferral assignments, relying heavily on your knowledge of electronic accounting software to test, analyze, and evaluate the taxpayer's accounting system. Also, you will perform data sampling and prepare reports explaining the findings.

- Prepare detailed audit reports.
- Manage audit processes.
- Assess audit risks.
- Assign work and manage training plan for new auditors.
- Ongoing resource for future taxpayer education. Qualifications
We're looking for candidates who have the following:
Bachelor's degree with major study in accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in business administration or allied field which includes 24 semester or 36 quarter hours of college-level accounting (may include credits from one Business Law class).
A bachelor's or graduate degree and is CPA Exam eligible.
Two (2) years of experience as a Revenue Auditor 2, or four (4) years of professional accounting, tax compliance or tax examination experience.
