Residential Care Services is looking for On-Call Registered Nurses. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the responsibility for the licensing and oversight of adult family homes, boarding homes, nursing facilities, certified residential programs and enhanced services facilities. Residential Care Services is part of the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA). The ALTSA Vision is: Seniors and people with disabilities living with good health, independence, dignity, and control over the decisions that affect their lives.
The job classification for these positions is Nursing Consultant Institutional. The working titles for the positions are: Nursing Home Surveyor, Assisted Living Facility Licensor, Enhanced Services Facility (ESF) Licensor, Community Complaint Investigator, Adult Family Home (AFH) Licensor, and Nursing Home Complaint Investigator.
You would go out to the assigned facilities as teams or individually to inspect, observe, evaluate, survey, investigate complaints and/or interview residents in licensed facilities. You will complete written reports, data entry, and track assigned work. This will include traveling in a broad geographical area for the designated region, which may include overnight stays.

Who we are looking for:
Someone who can communicate well with management, peers, clients, and the public, and who has a Master of Nursing/Master of Science in Nursing and two years of RN experience. OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing and three years of RN experience. OR Associate Degree in Nursing/Diploma Nurse and five years of RN experience.
Certain positions, such as Nursing Home Surveyor and Nursing Home Complaint Investigator require Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) certification.
Travel and per diem reimbursement is available when conducting official state business.
