Job Title Principle Resident Engineer

Job Description

Main Tasks / Competence / Responsibilities

  • Assure project launch quality

  • Perform process improvement meeting (CCB processes)

  • Guide problem resolution (drive technical Issues to closure)

  • Identify risk mitigation and recovery activities within given constraints

  • Ensure compliance to product and process development processes (within the project) to TRW definitions

  • Prepare quality planning documents (Quality Assurance Plan, review plan, quality criteria, etc.)

  • Assure the quality of the work products and deliverables during product development

  • Reporting on projects out of the quality point of view

  • Improve development documentation and project transparency

  • Ensure customer APQP and customer specific requirements are part of project planning

  • Diagnostics on defined development projects with regard to critical deliverables and risks

  • Identify systematic issues between ongoing projects

  • Assess and maintain the quality of the work products and engineering processes (specification management, etc.)

  • Be aware of lessons learnt from PPAC, etc. and incorporate to ongoing projects

  • Reports process improvement status to management and escalates non-compliances if required (optional)

  • Measure the health / quality of the projects

HSE competences :

  • Comply with the applicable Occupational Risk Prevention rules established by the Company

  • Comply with the applicable rules concerned with environment management and energy established by the Company

  • Knowledge of HSE and energy politics of TRW

  • Knowledge of the procedure in emergency case, defined in the emergency and evacuation plan of the facilities

  • Know and understand the risks and the safety measures of the safety data sheet of each own job position

  • Participate in HSE programs, workshops, kaizen events, etc. promoted by the company, in accordance with HSE aspects proposed in them

  • Inform (the immediate superior/line manager) of each risk situation, incident or accident both for people and for the facilities


Knowledge in quality tools: APQP, 8D, FMEA, QFD

Understanding of business and engineering processes

Problem solving skills

Skilled in aligning procedures to standards and achieve effective and efficient process definition

Education Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Engineering required

Experience and Skill Requirements 5 + years
