The "career" level manufacturingengineer is responsible for supporting vehicle launches in the bodyshop bycompleting all aspects of Weld Verification and Qualification.The engineeris responsible to understand and enforce all welding standards and reviewstrategic supplier processing for adherence to them.Work is performed in a centralized manufacturingengineering location and at suppliers, transitioning to an assembly plant forlaunch support.

Key Job Elements Include:

··Workwith Manufacturing Architects, M.E. and P.E. to identify all welding specialconditions

·Interfacewith Strategic Supplier to verify compliance to standards.

·Developresources strategy for assigned launch.

·Obtainproject approvals and funding, utilizing GM systems and processes.

·Define/Executeprogram work testing in GM Labs and/or supplier facilities.

·CommunicateLessons learned upon completion of a launch

Support implementation of new technologies on programsthrough engineering phase, prototype builds and launch.
