Software Strategist – External Object Calculating Module - Active Safety

Active safety is a rapidly developing area of automotive engineering, deploying multiple new sensors, subsystems and features to the vehicle. The combination of these sensors provides near and far object detection enabling the implementation of many new safety features into the vehicle – Forward collision warning, collision mitigated braking, lane departure warning to name a few. The Active Safety External Object Calculating Module (EOCM) Software Strategist is a key role in developing and maintaining the complex software releases to support the many advanced features that will be rolled out on many different programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify data dictionary changes and impacts to planned EOCM software (SW)
  • Maintain/Support master EOCM SW Part Number Matrix GMNA/PATAC by adding new programs and documented and changes to SW and Calibrations
  • Verify GM calibration Combo Matrix and PPC
  • Gather and verify GM and Supplier calibration releases
  • Provide archives to Validation
  • Provide data files to Data File Manager
  • Manage PATAC data files
  • Provide VeSCoM timing for SW/Calibration deliveries
  • Create/maintain 3PDs
  • Upload VeSCoM releases to Sharepoint
  • EWO - release data files to GPDS
  • Upload files to CPFA/GDFRS
  • Verify GEPICS and CASH reports
  • Attend DITs for new SW releases
  • Support Ride Vehicle updates
  • EOCM Single point contact for all assembly plants regarding all SW releases
  • Root cause development/durability vehicles
  • Support root cause of capture test fleet and field issues

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Automotive development experience

Experience

  • 10+ Years of Overall Engineering Experience or demonstrated proficiency of electrical modules.
  • 5+ Years of Active Safety Experience
  • 5+ Years of Software Release Experience
  • 5+ Years of Vehicle Reflash Experience

Preferred

  • Knowledge of GM Data File Release Process
  • Knowledge of GM vehicle reflash tools and processes
  • Black belt DFSS
