Lead failure mode avoidance (FMA) strategies for theenterprise in software development of future facing technologies

Work independently to execute full lifecycle softwaredevelopment; with emphasis on requirements and prevention of issues duringdesign/architecture, coding, testing and maintenance of embedded software

Assist in building descriptive, predictive and prescriptivemodels to help characterize, predict, control and measure software development

Responsible to develop a set of corporate, division andproject goals; emphasis will be on prevention of issues, via use of softwarereliability tools.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer ScienceEngineering/related discipline or equivalent

Strong interpersonal skills, high level of oral and writtencommunication skills

High level of analytical ability where problems are unusualor difficult

Ability to work independently, take initiative and work to aplan

Good project management and team facilitation skills

Background in Product Development: (Validation, ReliabilityEngineering, Quality Tools, Design Release Engineering, or ManufacturingEngineering, etc.)

Leads/facilitates Software / Algorithm Failure Mode EffectAnalysis (FMEA)

Familiar with software development process and tools toascertain its capability

Understands the difference between hardware reliability andsoftware reliability issues

Familiar with modeling and statistical techniques inachieving reliable software

Familiar with software development best practices (e.g.MISRA)

Familiar with software quality assurance and software safetytools


Master’s degree in EE or Computer Science preferred

Ability to multi-task by handling multiple assignmentsconcurrently

Strong knowledge of Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG)FMEA Manual, 4th Edition and/or SAE J1739

Knowledge of software development models (e.g. Water Fall,Spiral Model)

Knowledge of software capability processes (e.g. SPICE, CMMI)

Knowledgeable in Software design for reliability (DfR) tools(e.g. Orthogonal Testing, Calibration Software Optimization via DOEs, SoftwareHazard Analysis, Code Inspection, Software Requirement Traceability Matrices, SoftwareStatic Analysis, Software Sneak Path Analysis)

Experience with MATLAB/Simulink preferred
