Description

GPSC Logistics Finance is a key partner in the measurementand management of GM’s global purchasing and supply chainactivities.The Logistics Operations Finance Senior Analyst is a keyteam member for the operating team in influencing future programs, driving costsavings, performing business case analysis, development of forecasts/budgets,and investigating special projects. The ideal candidate will possess financialacumen, a willingness to understand key drivers of the business with theiroperational counterparts, ability navigate data systems, comfort withambiguity, and creativity in harnessing insights through tools to support theoperating team to achieve targets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Structural Cost Analysis
  • Pull actuals for Bundled Services from SAP
  • Collaborate with business partners in Logistics and SupplyChain on actuals, forecast, and variance explanations
  • Validation and Consolidation of FP&A data
  • Reporting results to senior leadership
  • Enterprise Cost Control
  • Review business cases with operational counterparts
  • Timing reconciliation with capital forecast group
  • Communication with various other GM finance and operationalgroups
  • Support budget and other recurring activities
  • Special studies and ad-hoc projects based on operationalteam needs

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working experience in Finance desired
  • Background in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering orother technical fields
  • Strong AnalyticalSkills/Fundamental Knowledge of Corporate Finance
  • Familiarity in use of common financial tools (ROI, NPV, IRR,etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles
  • Critical thinking and inquisitive mind
  • Can provide accurate, timely and reliable reporting andcontrols
  • Strategic Thinking / Business Acumen
  • Ability to grasp the "big picture" and underlyingstrategic issues
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to bring fresh perspective to challenges and abilityto effectively communicate advantages
  • Ability to benchmark competition with regard to performancestandards, best practices
