General Motors MAVEN Business Reporting Analyst - GCC0001411 in Warren, Michigan

This is an opportunity to work in an innovative and entrepreneurial new area for General Motors to help define the future of mobility within the Maven team. This role is critical to help develop insights into car and ride sharing usage and behaviors. The Senior Reporting Analyst role will be responsible to support all efforts of the MAVEN team for report development, quality assurance, and analysis. This position will also support business processes and internal client needs as the primary point of contact.


  • Help the development of data-management and data-science competency and corporate integration across Maven collaboratively with the wider GM organization
  • Develop Tableau/Cognos/SQL reports according to best practices
  • Work directly with both internal and external resources to ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables, while managing multiple priorities
  • Possess critical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities and be productive in a team environment
  • Develop and build reporting solutions based on existing requirements, hypothetical needs/want’s, models and delivery methods
  • Be self-directed, proactive, and able to think beyond the immediate problem
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert in the GM business by being able to understand the business operations, reporting requirements and deliver insights that will drive the business forward
  • Work with various functions, including engineering, platform teams, R&D, IT, GCCX functions and others as required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in a hands-on reporting analyst position, preferably in Automotive, and/or Marketing
  • Oracle, MSSQL, Teradata SQL query experience
  • Data Visualization & Business Intelligence experience
  • Experience with Adobe Omniture/web analytics tools a plus
  • Experience with Statistical tools (e.g., R, Mahout, Spark, SAS, SPSS, STATA) a plus
  • Experience with Oracle, Teradata, Data Warehousing, Golden Gate, Data Profiling, Data Modeling
  • Development experience with ETL tools, preferably Data Stage is a plus
  • Experience of the full BI project development lifecycle using industry standard tools
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, critical thinking and innovative problem solving skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and work effectively both independently and with teams
  • Strong facilitation, oral and written communication, including active listening skills. Fluent in written and spoken English
