Aftersales Engineering:

Aftersales Engineering supports all aspects of engineering to service and support the vehicle after it is sold. An assignment in this area of Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) may include developing serviceability of design requirements for parts, developing service diagnostics, service parts releases and cataloging, glove box literature, scan tool diagnostics & tools, service re-programming and development of reclaim procedures for remanufactured components. Work may also involve activities to analyze warranty costs, program readiness, performance parts development and support for Purchasing/Supply Chain activities. Students may interact with Vehicle Product Development and Service Operations in performance of job duties.

Service Operations:

An assignment in the Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) Service Operations area will focus on providing support to Dealers for service related activities including warranty administration, data analysis, failed part reviews, technical training, tools and equipment, service data licensing, technical service bulletins, and labor time development for vehicle repairs. Work also includes Brand Quality Management to identify, escalate, and resolve product issues, manage service bulletins and reduce warranty costs while acting as a laison to the Dealer and Customer facing teams (TAC, CAC, Field Service Engineering.)

Global Regulatory Compliance

Aftersales Engineering Global Regulatory Compliance is responsible for Substance of Concern (SoC) and Part Marking compliance for CCA. An assignment in this area of Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) may include material analysis of parts for regulated chemical substances and ensuring appropriate compliance plan(s) exist; development of Safety Data Sheets (SDS); support for product registrations & packaging/label development; and comprehending regulations that impact part sales globally. Students may interact with CCA Product Development, Vehicle Product Development, Global Safety & Industrial Hygiene, and regulatory personnel globally.
