General Purpose of Position : Supply Chain

Assist in managing supply chain issues that may preclude GM’s ability to manufacture product. Ensure sufficiency plans are developed and appropriate cross functional engagement. Assist the Global MMOG/LE Team in processing, analyzing and following up on supplier self-assessments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities :

Leading issue resolution with support from other teams

Facilitate allocation of material between customer locations

Cross functional communication to support recovery plans (plants, quality, logistics, purchasing, etc)

Process supplier self-assessments

Analyze supplier assessment data

Analyze GM internal supplier performance data

Follow-up with suppliers on insufficient information & continuous improvement plans

Assist in supplier auditing and corrective action plans


Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

GPA of 3.0

Supply Chain Management Major

High Level of analytical ability

Excellent communication (oral & written)

Computer skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

General Purpose of Position: Logistics and Containers

Support the flow of material to stamping centers, Powertrain facilities, and assembly plants; as well as the transportation of finished vehicles to domestic dealers and international sales partners. Complete projects that develop, validate and implement network designs, operating plans, container specifications, total enterprise cost analysis.

Major Duties and Responsibilities :

Analyzes product sourcing alternatives to assist in developing total landed cost

Proposes and evaluates material and vehicle logistics network design and operating plans

Provides logistics and container cost estimates for new product launches

Provides technical support to product and platform teams regarding vehicle ship ability and test loading

Supports global program homeroom on issues related to supply chain

Manages logistics project plan for new vehicle launch

Qualifications :

Strong oral and written communication skills

Currently working toward a bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Engineering

GPA of 3.0

High level of analytical ability where problems are complex

Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

Strong organizational skills

Proficient in Windows applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and independent judgment.

Preferred Critical Skills:

Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc)

Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills

Automotive industry experience

Knowledge of procurement software

Knowledge of materials management

Capable of interpreting market data

Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents

Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes

Ability to workglobally, independently, and self-directed

Ability to travel at least 5% of time, including international travel

Required Qualifications:
